XBS rotary decanter, as the supernate drainage device, is applied to various intermittent circulatory activated sludge process of sewage treatment system (such as SBR and CASS). Considering influence of scums in the water surface and sludge at the bottom to the water drainage quality, a floating barrel is set in front of the decanter basin, which ensures collection of supernate without scums or sludge at the bottom.
The decanter consists two parts: the stainless steel device body and intelligent control cabinet.
1. Decanter body
XBS decanter is mainly made up of electric linear actuator, floating barrel, decanter pipes, decanter branch pipes, decanter weir plate, sealed joints and rotary supports. The underwater parts are all made of stainless steel.
The electric linear actuator is power unit to carry out commands, running steady with bound switches and overload protection device. The bound switches are normal close, that is, when decanter rises to the top, the upper switch is off; when decanter drops to the bottom, the lower switch is off; and when decanter is in the middle area, the two switches are both on.
When the decanter works, the motor is started by the automatic system and drives the water basin close to the water surface through the bar at a high speed. When the basin reaches the water surface, control system will send related command. Then the motor will drive the water basin to drain off water at a rated slow speed constantly after it is adjusted by the frequency converter. After the height reaches to the index value, the automatic control system will send command and the decanter will be back to the original place at a high speed. The normal decanter height is 0.5-2.0m. Within this range, the designers can have their own selection and provide with relative parameters.
2. Intelligent control cabinet
The intelligent control cabinet is fixed on the operation plate of SBR aeration tank. The operator should be able to observe the running condition of decanter. There is frequency converter inside of the control cabinet to receive operating commands from PLC.
There is a manual/long-distance switch in the operating cabinet. The manual operation is applied to adjustment or manual running of decanter at site; while long-distance operation is capable to carry out commands from DCS automatic control system to ensure the decanter work as the program exactly.
